3i's MLSS offers two versions of the Plug and Play MLSS. The Incoming/Outgoing Multi-Line Sharing Switches are designed to allow both incoming and outgoing calls. The Outgoing Multi-Line Sharing Switches are designed for applications where only outgoing calls are necessary.
Features
Plug and Play Installation
3i's Plug and Play MLSS does not require programming, software or a computer network. Installation is simple and easy - connect themodular cords from the IST devices and telephone lines to theMLSS, and plug the AC transformer into an electrical outlet andinstallation is complete.
Outbound Calling
Any IST device connected to a port on the MLSS can access dialtone to make an outbound call. The quantity of IST devices thatcan be in use simultaneously is equal to the quantity oftelephone lines connected to the MLSS.
Inbound Calling - (Incoming/Outgoing Versions Only)
Incoming calls to the first line ports of the MLSS are passeddirectly through to the first IST ports. Therefore, the quantityof IST devices that can accept incoming calls is equal to thequantity of telephone lines connected to the MLSS.
Example: four (4) IST devices (Ports 1-4) can receive incomingcalls if four (4) telephone lines are connected to the MLSS.
Expandability
The Multi-Line Sharing Switches were designed with futurecompany growth and product expandability in mind. Installing a412EXP Expansion Kit into the 4 line by 12 device MLSS willcreate an 8 line by 24 line device MLSS. All models of the MLSScan be networked together to provide additional IST device ports,telephone line ports or both.
Example: Networking two 8X24 MLSS units together will create a14X46 MLSS and three 8X24s will create a 21X69 MLSS. Refer to"Networking multiple MLSS units together" section of Products formore information on networking multiple MLSS units together.
3i's MLSS can be configured in any combination of lines and ISTdevices that a company desires. Example: an 824 MLSS can beconfigured 3 lines by 20 devices, or 8 lines by 12 devices.Simply plug in the telephone lines and IST devices and the MLSShandles the rest!
Data Transmission Speed
3i's MLSS has been designed to transmit data at the highest levelof speed allowable present and future on a business telephoneline.
Power Failure Transfer
3i's MLSS provides straight through connections of all lines onpower-off. Line port one will connect directly through to ISTport one. Line port two will connect directly through to IST porttwo, etc. The quantity of telephone lines connected to the MLSSdetermines the quantity of straight through power failconnections available.
Surge Protection
3i's MLSS meets or exceeds all FCC Part 68 requirements for surgeprotection on the telephone lines. The electrical tranformer isUL listed; however, an electrical surge protector is recommendedto protect against electrical surges and spikes. Plug and Play - Incoming/Outgoing
