Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company and Multi-Tech Systems, Inc. today announced tested functionality between Panasonic’s Telephone Systems and PBXs with Multi-Tech’s Voice over IP technologies. Multi-Tech’s complete line of MultiVOIP Voice IP gateway and combination gateway/gatekeepers are being recommended for use with Panasonic’s Advanced Hybrid Telephone Systems, Digital Super Hybrid Telephone Systems and Digital PBX System. The Panasonic/Multi-Tech product combination works in multi-location IP networks where Panasonic Communications Systems are or will be providing voice services at each location. By connecting Multi-Tech Voice over IP gateways to existing routers and the Panasonic equipment at the various sites, both voice and fax communications between locations can ride free over the existing IP data network.
Multi-Tech offered just what we wanted because their Voice over IP products were designed to operate WITH existing routers and Panasonic telephone systems instead of having to replace them. And that is exactly what our customers want. We now recommend the Multi-Tech Voice over IP solutions for use on all of our communications systems.
Multi-Tech’s MultiVOIP solutions will work with Panasonic’s Advanced Hybrid Telephone Systems (KX-TA624, KX-TA1232), Digital Super Hybrid Systems (KZ-TD308, KX-TD1232, KX-TD816) and Digital PBX Systems (KX-TD500). Multi-Tech’s MultiVoIP Gateways connect to the telephone system’s voice cards via FXS, FXO or E&M; interfaces and user supplied router via a 10/100 Ethernet interface. Any voice or fax calls then made from one network location to another via the telephone equipment will be routed over the IP network at no charge. Using the PSTN fail over feature calls are routed over the PSTN if the IP network has problems. A network comprised of Panasonic and Multi-Tech equipment provides significant savings on long distance and international voice and fax telephone charges.
